Dr. Joe Helps Twin with Rapidly Decaying Teeth Restore Her Smile on The Doctors
Twin sisters, Kimberly and Nicole, visited The Doctors to find out what has been causing the rapid decay of Nicole’s smile. About ten years ago, Nicole began having serious dental problems that have only gotten worse over time. Cavities, erosion, discoloration, chipped teeth, and exposed nerves have destroyed her smile, and severely affected her quality-of-life—she is in constant pain. Mysteriously, her twin Kimberly hasn’t had any similar dental issues. Nicole has been to many different dentists to try and figure out the root cause of her deteriorating smile, but no one has been able to give her a definitive answer or provide adequate treatment to stop the progression.
Thankfully, The Doctors were able to send Nicole to see top Las Vegas cosmetic dentist Joseph Willardsen, DDS for a thorough dental evaluation. After examining her teeth, reviewing x-rays, and performing some advanced diagnostic testing, Dr. Joe suggested that Nicole’s dental issues may be related to a medical problem. He recommended that she see an internist, Dr. Ali, to perform more testing to reveal the true root cause of her disappearing smile.
When the results of the medical tests came in, Dr. Ali revealed that Nicole has Sjogren’s Syndrome—a condition that affects the salivary glands and tear ducts. The persistent lack of saliva had made Nicole’s mouth an acidic and inhospitable environment for her teeth. The good news is that there is treatment available that can help. To help correct Nicole’s severe dental damage, Dr. Joe offers to fully restore her smile with state-of-the-art cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry free of charge!
